ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems selects Tacton Sales Configurator for customizing entrance solutions
April 5, Stockholm, Sweden, 2006 – ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is a leading manufacturer of entrance solutions and a division of the world’s leading lock group ASSA ABLOY AB. The company’s products are the result of technical experience as well as a significant amount of expertise in a wide range of entrance solutions. With the help of Tacton’s sales configurator, ASSA ABLOY is now transferring valuable engineering know-how to its sales operations in order to create quotations and handle orders quicker and easier.
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems currently employs some 1,750 people around the world - manufacturing entrance solutions in Sweden, England, Germany, USA and China. It has customers in 75 countries and the Web-based sales configurator will initially be used by the sales force in the USA, and later also in Europe.
“We decided to get rid of our older customized solution and implement a more powerful standard tool that has more functionality and the flexibility to integrate with surrounding systems in the future,” says Anders Planell, Group IT Manager at ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems.
Tacton Configurator integrates with existing CRM and ERP systems, which are the internal source of product properties. It enables the user to make various selections, depending on customer requirements, and proposes possible product combinations. The user can then fine-tune the selection by choosing more detailed technical parameters. Throughout the entire process, the user can see all possible component selections and receives interactive help from the configurator, ensuring that the customer gets the optimal solution for his requirements, while the configurator at the same time prevents unsuitable or incorrect solutions.
