2012-04-16: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor (MCO) Chooses TactonWorks for Customization of Large Scale Compressors and Turbines

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor (MCO) Chooses TactonWorks for Customization of Large Scale Compressors and Turbines

Stockholm, Sweden – April 16, 2012- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation, (MCO) began using TactonWorks in 2011 and has already seen drastic time savings for detailed engineering work of up to 90% per quote.

MCO, a 100% owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ldt. (MHI) is a leading global supplier of large scale compressors and turbines used at petrochemical plants, natural gas processing plants, LNG Plants, FPSD, etc. in more than 60 countries.

TactonWorks, an add-in to SOLIDWORKS, is Tacton’s tool for Design Automation. It automates the customization of complex products, which helps you save time and money. It also ensures correctly updated models and drawings.

Not long ago, MCO saw a need to automate the customization of their products in order to reduce delivery time and engineering costs. Their reseller, Hiroshima Daia Systems HDS learned about Tacton and TactonWorks at SOLIDWORKS World Japan in 2010. MCO implemented TactonWorks for the first section of their assembly three months ago and have already experienced detailed design time savings of approximately 90% per customization.

“We are amazed at the amount of time we’ve saved since starting to use TactonWorks—and this after implementing it in only one part of our product assembly. We really believe in this solution and are eager to start using it for our other models as well”, says Mr.Yasuhiko Omi, Director of Plant Engineering Division at Technology Management Center, MCO.

MCO plans to continue to implement TactonWorks for the other parts of their assembly with a final goal of having the complete assembly implemented.

“We are very happy to see a customer get such fantastic return after using our solution for only a short period of time. We look forward to seeing how much more time they will save in the coming phases of the project”, says Christer Wallberg, CEO Tacton Systems.

The sale was made together with Tacton’s Japanese partners, Hiroshima Daia Systems (HDS), who implemented the solution and Kozo Keikaku Engineering (KKE), who sold the software licenses.

Stockholm, Sweden – February 28, 2012- Meyn Food Process Technology uses Tacton Configurator CPQ for Salesforce worldwide.

Meyn Food Processing Technology uses Tacton Configurator CPQ, a solution recently introduced on the Salesforce AppExchange. They enjoy an average timesaving of more than 60% on each quotation.

Meyn’s implementation of Tacton Configurator integrated with the online CRM system Salesforce.com enables Meyn to generate quotations and BOMs that are instantly available in Salesforce CRM leading to large reductions in the quote generation lead time and large increases in quote quality.

“When evaluating other sales configurator solutions, Tacton clearly stood out as the best solution for our company. We felt that they supported and understood the complexity of our products”, says Jan Ras, Manager Sales Support, Meyn.

Today, Tacton Configurator CPQ is used worldwide by more than 40 Meyn sales representatives. The results attained are even better than anticipated. The lead time to create a quote decreased by more than 60% and the number of questions needed for the complete quote decreased by more than 85%.

2012-01-18: Siemens Energy launches the sales tool Tacton Configurator World Wide

Stockholm, Sweden – January 18, 2012- Siemens Energy launches the sales tool Tacton Configurator World Wide for its Industrial Power Business

Siemens Energy Industrial Power will launch their new sales tool, Tacton Configurator, for use by sales teams in all regions worldwide. The tool will be used to create budgetary quotations for all products with a few exceptions.

Application engineers at Siemens have used Tacton Configurator for three years to generate firm quotations. Now the Siemens sales teams will use it globally to configure products during sales meetings.

“The beauty of Tacton Configurator is that it will guide the sales rep. through the sale and get the configuration of the product and quotation correct each time as potential conflicts and errors are resolved automatically by the configurator. It now takes us only five minutes to generate a complete budget offer including pricing, [and it] saves us tremendous amounts of time and money”, says Jan Nilsson, initiator of the development project and Senior Engineer CRM Process & IT Development.

The new tool improves both the sales organization as well as R&D because it develops and maintains product information in the system. Implementation of this system has already resulted in much simpler maintenance.

“In our previous system, we had thousands of business rules. Using Tacton’s system, we now have just a few hundred and this has made maintenance so much easier,” says Asa Johansson, responsible for global coordination of Tacton.

Tacton’s mission is to simplify sales of complicated products and solutions. The Siemens implementation demonstrates how quotation time can be reduced from days to just a few minutes without sacrificing accuracy.

“I am extremely happy to have our solution implemented at Siemens. It really shows that we can solve configuration problems and make organizations more effective regardless of the complexity of the products to be configured. We are looking forward to a long and successful relationship with Siemens,” says Christer Wallberg, CEO Tacton Systems.
