DISquare May 2014

Stockholm, Sweden – May 22, 2014- Tacton Systems, global supplier of Configure Price Quote (CPQ) solutions announces today that going forward the Japanese partner, DISquare Corporation, will resell Tacton System’s complete CPQ solution, including the solution for Design Automation in SOLIDWORKS; TactonWorks. The strengthening of this partnership expands Tacton’s geographical coverage for sales, support and implementation.

The need for CPQ solutions in the Japanese market is growing rapidly as modularization is becoming a more vital part of the manufacturing industry. Also, increasing competition between Japanese manufacturing companies creates an increasing need for faster and more streamlined sales and production processes, as well as, the need to deliver higher quality products to the customers.

“Today, modularization seems to be the natural course for industrial companies going forward, and we believe that the advantages of modularization will be most effective if they are accompanied by configuration and CPQ solutions. We have found Tacton’s CPQ tools very user-friendly and the best one of its kind in the market today”, says Mr. Tadashi Matsuo, President DISquare Corporation.

As the need for CPQ increases, Japanese manufacturing companies are forced to either develop the solution themselves; a very time consuming and costly process, or they can buy the solution from a solution provider, such as DISquare, that has partnered up with expert CPQ suppliers.

“The addition of Tacton’s solutions adds to DISquare’s core areas and makes us an even stronger supplier of services that soon will be invaluable to our clients”, says Mr. Tadashi Matsuo, President DISquare Corporation.

Japan is one of Tacton Systems core markets and this kind of partnerships are in order to succeed.

”To be successful in the Japanese market it is of great importance to have a vigorous partner eco system. DISquire is an important member of our Japanese ecosystem and provides leading expertise in smart product structures and guided selling of complex products”, Says Anders Hellermark, SVP Business Development Tacton Systems.

Product Release Testbench

Stockholm, Sweden – May 14, 2014 – Tacton Systems, global supplier of Configure Price Quote (CPQ) solutions, is today releasing a new product for testing, Tacton Configurator Studio Testbench. Testing is often time-consuming and expensive, but with this new point- and click tool, more companies will be able to automate their testing environment.

When working with sales- and product configuration, testing is extremely important. If the product models aren’t set up correctly, poor testing will result in expensive and time-consuming remakes. Without a testing tool like the Tacton Configurator Studio Testbench (Testbench), all scenarios have to be set up manually for each test, which is both time-consuming and expensive.

With the Testbench, product specialists can easily design the specifications once and then automatically re-use them for all future testing. This is done in a point-and-click environment—where no coding is needed.

Up until today, only a few selected Tacton customers have had the opportunity to pilot this new product. One of these pilot companies is Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB.

“At Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB we use Testbench during development of the configuration model for our gas turbines. It plays an important role when quality assuring and testing the changes in our product models. The biggest benefit with the Testbench is that it enables us to easily run reoccurring test cases but also to develop and create new test cases,” says Pär Alenbrand, Sales Configuration Manager at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB.

The Testbench provides the capabilities to set up, maintain and automatically run and validate countless number of tests automatically on product models created.

Compared to manual testing, Testbench benefits include:

  • A more efficient, faster and easier testing process.
  • Countless test cases can be created, edited and at any time automatically run and validated.
  • Assured higher product quality as the products have been tested in a more efficient and qualitative way.
  • Instant validation of changes in the model makes it much easier to find and correct mistakes early and avoid regressive bugs—a large money and time saver.
  • A more comprehensive test process allowing for data and logic to be tested at the same time.
  • Allows for running several tests at the same time.
  • Time is freed up for the product specialists.

Tacton Systems Starts Its Third Talent Program

Stockholm, July 8, 2013: The Swedish software company Tacton Systems, that develops and implements software for complex sales configuration, announced today that they will start its third talent program in September 2013.

Last week, Tacton Systems reported a good economic situation with a revenue increase of 30% compared to the same period last year. The company is not only growing revenue wise, but also personnel wise. This year Tacton has already recruited 24 employees and plans to recruit 10-15 more developers and business consultants during the coming Fall. Many of these will be a part of the company’s third talent program starting in September.

Tacton has developed its talent program to attract competent developers and business consultants and quickly make them feel like one in the team and by that contribute in the most effective way possible. The program consists of education mixed with real projects. The educational part of the program consists of subjects from all parts of the company such as product understanding, project methodology, sales and marketing. To be accepted to the program the candidate need to be ambitious and curios to learn new things and have a large interest for how industrial products work and are built.

Since Tacton has customers and employees from all over the world it is very important that all employees are interested in working internationally.

”In our current expansion phase, we have a great need for engaged team players that quickly becomes a natural part of the company and we have seen that this type of talent program creates many advantages in this sense. The participants can also help each other and get a lot of help from the more senior employees at Tacton during the course of the program. This has proven to have a very positive effect for Tacton as well as the program participants.” says Ann Jerreborg, HR Manager, Tacton Systems

Tacton’s talent program has two specializations: Business Consultant, that analyzes the customers’ mechanical products and Software Developer, who develops advanced applications for the customers. Tacton Systems Gets a Flying Start for 2013

Stockholm, June 27, 2013: The Swedish software company Tacton Systems, that develops and implements software for complex sales configuration, announced today that the company is off to a flying start for 2013 with a revenue growth of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

It looks like Tacton Systems will see yet another record year in 2013 after the all-time high of 105 MSEK net sales in 2012. However, the company is aiming a lot higher. The next goal is to reach 500 MSEK by 2017.

”We are aware that it is a tough goal to reach, but we wouldn’t aim so high if we weren’t confident that it is an achievable goal. So far, we are right on track with our plan”, says Christer Wallberg, CEO Tacton Systems.

In addition to growing on the revenue side, Tacton is also expanding its personnel side and continuing the aggressive recruitment it began in 2011. During the first five months of 2013, 24 new employees were recruited and this Fall, Tacton plans to recruit 10-15 more application developers and business consultants.

Tacton won several new manufacturing industry customers in 2012 and it’s self-evident that the need for complex configuration is growing as the configuration market matures.

“We have a fantastic prospect list for the rest of the year, as a matter a fact; it is the best I have seen during my years at Tacton. There are many well-known company names on the list and we feel certain that most of them will choose Tacton before the year is over”, says Wallberg.

Today, Tacton Systems has more than 200 customers from the manufacturing industry including Toshiba Medical Systems, Siemens, GE Healthcare, and ABB.
